My Drugstore Deals 5/29

Had a good drugstore deal day!

Everything in the picture above came to $20.37 out of pocket (oop) and I received $2.99 in rewards to use on my next purchase. Grand Total = $17.38!! The Arm and Hammer Spinbrushes are $8.99 each regularly priced. So it was like getting 2 of them for $1 off and the rest for FREE!

My total came to $1.78...this should have been $0.78 but the girl missed a coupon. I didn't realize it until I left, but I just call it Coupon Karma...sometimes coupons get missed and sometimes they mess up in your favor. I don't dispute them when they mess up in my favor and I don't argue when they mess up a coupon (if it's only a $1 or so).

I also received a $0.99 Register Reward for next time. Meaning if this is was rang up correctly it would have been a $0.22 Money Maker!!

CVS

This is my best deal of the day. I had $5 in ECBs from last week and a $3 birthday gift from CVS (make sure you put your email address in when you sign up for your CVS card to get this). I also printed out the $5 off of $25 Memorial Day coupon sent to my email (again, be sure they have your email to send you these deals!)

Ignore the Aquafresh...I didn't buy that at CVS. :)

Advice for Free Coupons

I have a bunch of FREE coupons for different products (received through Kraft First Taste, Vocalpoint, facebook freebies, etc.). Last week I discovered an awesome use for them (besides being free).

Since I split up my transactions, I usually have a bunch of $3 off of $15 Rite Aid coupons (fyi- these print out at the bottom of your Rite Aid receipt and you go online, complete a survey, and can print out a $3 off $15 coupon for future purchase). I was just short of $15 and didn't think it was worth it to pay full price for a filler item just to get to $15 to use my coupon. So I used one of my FREE coupons to purchase something to make my before coupon total over $15! I'm going to save these type of coupons to use at Rite Aid so that I not only get my free item, but $3 off my purchase!

New Rite Aid coupon policies

Hip2Save had this post outlining changes to Rite Aid's coupon policy...the most important, you can't use a Buy One Get One free coupon with a Buy One Get One Free sale (which used to make both items free).

As some of you may know, Rite Aid updated their coupon policy yesterday which resulted in some significant changes. Click here to view the new coupon policy. Here are a couple of the new changes that have been made:

Buy One Get One Free

Old Policy:We accept two coupons for the purchase of two items that are on Buy One, Get One Free Promotion. We accept a Buy One, Get One Free Coupon with an item that is in our flyer as Buy One, Get One Free, meaning both items are free. The cash register will compute any sales tax due, which varies by state law.
New Policy: Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however only one coupon can be used for each pair of items purchased. A customer can use one “cents off” coupon in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item. Buy One Get One Free coupons cannot be used in conjunction with a Buy One Get One Free promotion.
(On a side note, this specific change really disappoints me and I am not clear why this change was made since Rite Aid is reimbursed by the manufacturer when a Buy 1 Get 1 coupon is used?! I will be getting in touch with my Rite Aid contact to discuss this further.)

Multiple Coupons

New Policy: Rite Aid may accept up to 4 identical coupons for the same number of qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers within the store manager’s sole discretion.
(I am actually pleased with this changed as this will allow for more of you to be able to get the awesome weekly deals without having to get to Rite Aid bright and early Sunday morning!)
What are your thoughts?! If you have feedback for Rite Aid (good or bad), I highly recommend that you contact their customer service department at 1-800-RITE-AID or send them an email.
