Purex Crystals Softner is a laundry softner that is unlike other softners because it is not liquid or powder, but crystal. I didn't realize this but almost all other softners are oil-based, meaning they work by coating your fabric in oil. The residue that builds up decreases the lifespan of your fabrics because it inhibits the proper cleaning of your laundry and leads to unwanted grey or yellow discoloration. Yuck!

So I gave my sample a try and I was impressed. The fragrance was very pleasant. You add the crystals directly to your load of laundry (I use powder detergent so I added both the detergent and the softner and let the water fill up half way before i add clothes to ensure they are dissolved). Once the clothes were washed they were definitely softer and had a light clean fragrance. The fragrance was not overly sweet like some softners.
